Scott brings over 15 years of experience in public and government affairs for the US Forest Service and state agencies to Green Pioneer Strategy. He has negotiated, drafted, and advocated for legislation addressing climate change, energy, forestry, and environmental protections. He specializes in bringing diverse groups together to reach consensus and build coalitions, translating complicated regulations and industry jargon to various audiences, and managing crises. He has cultivated relationships with elected officials at all levels of government, written and placed opinion pieces for executive leadership, handled media relations on sensitive projects and contentious issues, developed communication strategies for new products and initiatives, and fostered media relationships to elevate coverage of his organizations.
Scott has a master’s degree in environmental management from Yale University and a B.S. in biology from Bates College. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, International Society of Sustainability Professionals, US Renewable Energy Association, and Society of American Foresters.
